Issues with backup - lost changes

I’ve been working on a landing page and have been making manual backups when I’ve been adding elements. I needed to revert back so I selected the most recent backup.

All of the elements, the content, the CSS that I had were gone, it had reverted back to the original template. I’ve tried multiple different backups and it’s all gone.

Has anybody seen this behaviour before? I made sure I was only working with a single Sitejet tab.

Just to help figure out the best solution, could you let us know which environment you’re working in? For example:

  • Are you building directly inside Sitejet Studio (the visual builder)?
  • Or are you managing the site through cPanel or Plesk (e.g., for file access or custom coding)?

In the meantime, here are a few things you can try depending on your setup:

If You’re in Sitejet Studio:

  1. Check if there’s a version history or auto-save snapshot available.
  2. Make sure your most recent changes were actually saved before you triggered the manual backup.
  3. Try opening the site in a different browser or incognito mode to rule out cache/sync issues.
  4. If the changes are still missing, it’s best to contact Sitejet support — they may be able to access deeper backup logs or restore a hidden version.

Thanks for getting back to me, I have been using Sitejet through Plesk.
What I’ve found is that if I stay logged in for a few hours, working on a site, the warning to save before making a backup doesn’t activate. Because the backup section has a save button, I thought that would save the work.

Clearing the browser cache, and logging back into the site every hour or so seems to have fixed this issue, but I feel as though the UI is a little misleading. The save button itself is quite small, and saving a backup by clicking a save button should ideally save the changes that have been made.
