WebP images not displaying in frontend when Lazy Load is enabled (Gallery Module)

Hi everyone,

I’ve encountered an issue with WebP images in the gallery module. When I upload WebP files and place them inside the gallery, everything works correctly in the backend preview.

However, if Lazy Load is enabled in the module settings, the images do not display on the frontend of the website. As soon as I disable Lazy Load, the WebP images load and display without any issues.

Interestingly, this problem does not occur with .jpg files — Lazy Load works perfectly fine for them in both backend and frontend.
Has anyone experienced the same behavior or found a solution?

Thanks a ton for your help.
Leon

Hey Leon,

Do you have a Website ID and location of the gallery for us?

Hi Andre, thank you for your help! Sure

The Website ID is: 343040
The gallery location is: /malerei/organisches

That is a weird one. Forwarded this to the developers and moved this to the bug section

Great, thank you for your support :). Is it possible to be notified when you have successfully solved the problem?

Hey Leon, usually I will respond here.

So our devs tested this on Chrome, Safari, Firefox and another one on Firefox and Chrome and it works for them. ( Organisches - Wolfgang Brunner ) I still have the same issue on different browsers… that is a weird one. We are still investigating.

Thanks for the info, Andre! If it matters, I (admin) uploaded the images via the customer portal because it wasn’t possible to upload WebP files under ‘Files’ in the backend. The upload to the individual folders worked perfectly in the customer portal.

Hey Leon,

would you be able to send us a ticket and copy this community link into it? I would need the images directly from you and test them in a separate website and see if I can reproduce this.

Hi Andre, I’ve just opened a ticket. If you need anything else do not hesitate to contact me. Thank you!
