Multi language slug field in collection item

Hi Sitejetters, For multilanguage you can now create a translated page for a collection. So my intention was to use a filter field for english and dutch in the collection. So the idea was to add an item with dutch texts, then duplicate the item and change the dutch for english part. The filter field is changed from dutch to english. But creating a duplicate record with the same name will cause an error while there is duplicate url slug. So the url slug in the collection item is only attached to the english single page and not to the translated dutch single page.

For example team members. The name of the team member is Arthur. so the slug for english would be “example.com/teammembers/Arthur”. The dutch slug would be “example.com/teamleden/Arthur”. The single page layout can be like that with the last updates, but that cannot be done with tow different records in 1 collection because of the ‘english’ slug in the collection item. It would be very usefull to be able to select the corresponding language ‘slug’ like defined in the single page url.

Hi @Arthur_van_Veen,

you can translate the collection in the page manager for the other language. No need to create multiple collection entries for different languages in the same collection.

Hi Martin, yes I can rename the single page url to another language with ‘translate’. But the slug in the items (manage content) is still 1 slug. you cannot choose for the english or dutch slug
dutch
english

This is driving me crazy as well. I get a constant error. It’s like the second language doesn’t have a proper URL.

Hey @Lucy302 thank you for bringing this up. This is an old thread which I would like to close. Would you like to open a new thread, describing your issue, providing us with a website ID and some screenshots?

Happy to check and assist you on this matter
