Cookie Bar vs Cookie Consent Bar

Is there a difference between Cookie Bar and Cookie Consent Bar? Which one should I use?

Hey @Joaquin_Olivas

The Cookie Bar is slim and informative. Technically, the Cookie Bar only informs the user that cookies are stored, and the Consent Bar gives the user the choice of accepting or rejecting them.

The Cookie Consent Banner blocks all external scripts until consent is given. If consent is not given by the website visitor, those scripts cannot be loaded for that specific website visitor.

The website editor currently offers a consent banner that blocks all external scripts until consent is given. If consent is not given by the website visitor, those scripts cannot be loaded for that specific website visitor.

If you are looking for a comprehensive consent banner solution that allows visitors to e.g. select cookie categories and tracking tools, there are many excellent external providers such as:

  • Usercentrics
  • Consent Manager
  • Cookiebot - this is the solution we are using for our website sitejet.io

These providers are specialized in the topic of the GDPR and can thus focus their resources exclusively on adapting their solution to the constantly changing requirements of GDPR. Often, these providers also map different data protection regulations and even offer a free consent solution.

Please note that the information and features provided by The Website Editor do not replace legal advice. We recommend consulting an expert on the subject of GDPR in order to ensure customer-specific legal compliance.
