SMTP Contact Form

Hello Sitejet Team,

for security reasons, we will need to disable sendmail on our servers. Since Sitejet’s contact forms currently rely on sendmail, this would unfortunately prevent the forms from functioning.

We would therefore like to kindly request support for sending form submissions via SMTP as an alternative. This would greatly enhance compatibility with various hosting environments and improve overall email delivery reliability.

Is SMTP support for contact forms something that’s already planned — or could it be considered for future development?

Thank you very much in advance!

Best regards,
Marc

Hey Marc, do you use Sitejet Studio or the integration with cPanel or Plesk?

I am unsure what you mean by “Sitejet’s contact forms currently rely on sendmail”?

In Sitejet Studio, you are actually able to uncheck the “send mail” feature and just get the contact form entries in the customer portal, as explained here:

Hello Andre,
we use Plesk for our clients because it offers exactly the functionality we need.
In this setup, we have disabled sendmail to help limit or prevent spam distribution. As a result, all SiteJet contact forms have stopped working. Unfortunately, we couldn’t find any option to configure SMTP instead.

We cannot use Sitejet Studio in our productive environment.
We’d love to see an improvement here.

Kind regards from Brunswick Germany

Okay, well in that case I have to remove this feature request to another category as the feature you want is available in Studio. If you want Plesk to realize this you need to raise this with them.

If you need assistance with the mail setup of your server, I do recommend to contact them as well, actually.

Greetings back from Berlin

Is there a way to reach plesk/ the SiteJet Plesk team, Andre?
