Hi. I’m new to SiteJet and am trying to build a site from scratch. I have created a very simple site with 2 pages. There is a menu on the Home page, and I copied it to the Services page as a Reference. I then saved and published.
When I browse the site, the menu appears on the Home page but not on the Services page. So I went back into the designer, and the Reference section has disappeared from in there too!
UPDATE; After much trial and error, I somehow have the menu appearing on the Services page. However, if I publish and browse in EDGE, scrolling does not work properly on the Services page. In Firefox it works fine! Is using EDGE a problem with SiteJet?
SiteJet appeared to be exactly what I was looking for – simpler than Wordpress to manage, and no coding required. Unfortunately I had so many random issues with it that I have had to revert to using WordPress.
Maybe it was me, but I watched YouTube videos, copied the techniques, and the results I achieved were “unpredictable”. When I finally discovered that pages worked in Firefox but not in Edge I decided to give up.
My hosting is through StablePoint, I had various conversations with their support team but they could not explain what I was seeing. As my current package with them is limited to one domain, I was not able to keep live my SiteJet attempt.
In case it helps you, attached are 2 screenshots of my Home and Services page design in Navigator. As I explained on the Forum, I saved those pages and published. The menu on the Services page did not display, and when I want back in to check the page design, the Reference section had also disappeared in the Designer!
First, since you seem to like Sitejet, I do recommend you head over to Sitejet.io and do a free trial and test out the Website Builder and the templates and the handling with a few websites. It is free You might even be able to use your current mail address for the community to do so. Sent me a DM, if you face issues.
The cPanel / Plesk integration usually only lets you keep one website per domain. So maybe, if you feel so, get a feeling for the Website Builder and ask any questions you have.
The issue you described is a bit troubling - usually, when a user reports an issue specific for a browser, that is not a Sitejet error, but a browser specific error we might need to check this. Those issues sometimes happen, when the developers of the browser are not able to work with our general approach of code we deliver… but that could be one issue. Anyway… if you like, please give me the Website ID and I will try and reproduce this. Maybe, there is a new bug with Edge and we can do some tuning in the backend to get rid of that one for Edge.
It is usually not common that elements disappear in certain browsers
I’m happy to try SiteJet again as I like the concept and designer. Not got much time today so I have quickly created CMS - Thursbys This was done using Edge on Win 11 (latest updates applied)
When I use Presentation view, the Services page does have the menu. But… I’m not sure how fair a test this is as I can’t Publish the site to see how it looks in different Browsers. Also, this is totally bypassing StablePoint Hosting and any elements of SiteJet they host?
