I'd like to setup DKIM

@Andre please could you an update the status on adding DKIM?

@Naz_Haque this feature is not yet pursued by our developers. I will bring this up in our next product meeting to get more information on this. :slight_smile:

plus 1 on implementing DKIM

+1 on DKIM, i think this is a really important feature to have. This is a must have feature for me to consider using the sitejet email hosting in production environments as with the amount of spam happening around the world, without dkim the chance of mail going to spam is just too high.

I would like to come back to the topic. The globe is turning and 2 years have passed by and many of my emails are landing in the spam of the reciever…

Have you checked your SPF Record? 🔷 Security issue | Emails to Gmail not deliverable - Adjust SPF-Record

I have monitored this myself with my own mails are I have the opposite experience so far.

Hi @Andre, Happy New Year 2024 to you and the Sitejet team. I really would appreciate to have an information about the “DKIM feature”. Are there any news for us about that feature request?

Hey @Isabell_Mende - Happy New Year to you to. Currently, this feature is not on our Roadmap so far for 2024.

With Sitejet being available as a Plesk Extension this feature is probably not being pursued in the near future as far as I know.

Hi @Andre, thanks for your fast answer. For me, that is a bit of a pity, but maybe you could tell me more about alternatives , because I wouldn`t describe myself as a e-mail or hosting expert.

Also I would like to have more information about a kind of roadmap. What are the business model plans for Sitejet as a stand-alone-solution (and not only a product on top for plesk solution buyers). I am self employed and as I discovered Sitejet on the market and tested it, I was really relieved. Finally a system which is covering a part of my requirements and obviously with a bigger company in the background. Great. Won`t vanish from the market in the next days, so my thougths at the time.

And I have seen several new features and so on, so I have a good feeling and still have.
But now I have doubts and don`t get me wrong – I am appreciating honesty and directness.

What I also have in my mind and maybe I am simply not informed about that: Why don´t you offer “trainings” (for money of course) on Sitejet for advanced levels, or organising an online barcamps or anything like that?

I am absolutely aware, that you don`t have numbers of published websites like squarespace (Squarespace Usage Statistics) or other solutions, but the numbers are rising (Sitejet Usage Statistics). Slowly, but rising.

I short I think that I can sum this up to: “Where is sitejet going in the next years?”
Maybe you could simply help me by answering with the same honesty as before to this post.

Hey @Isabell_Mende,

thanks for your feedback and your questions.

There are a lot of things we want to do - for example, we want to explore how we can utilize AI-driven tools to improve website creation, e.g. by generating the first website draft of your next project with AI. We also want to work on connecting users and sharing knowledge and designs, e.g. by providing options to share website (templates) and website sections across accounts. Of course, we also want to improve the handling of existing features like Collections or image editing options, etc.

Our overall goal will always be to improve the creation and management of websites - might that be offering new features and tools or by improving the existing usability.

I hope that gives you more insights on what you can expect in the next years :slight_smile:

Hello @Franzi_Sitejet_Team, thanks for answering so quickly. I think the plans you’re announcing here are very good. Especially AI integration or switching sections across websites.
OK, I clearly understood that you are concentrating on the core: the website builder. This makes it clear to me that when it comes to hosting (web and e-mails), I will no longer host a domain with sitejet, but will only refer to it using an a-record. I am looking forward to the new features.

I agree with Isabell regarding trainings etc.
For the previous website builder version there has been some tutorials for specific things.
I would really appreciate a video academy with the possibility to request tutorials for topics we are struggeling. It would surely decrease support requests for your help center.

@Hi Andre, just to get this right.´: “Sitejet for agencies” is actually supporting DKIM? And only the “Plesk Extension” doesn`t support it? In my Sitejet account for my domain isabellmende.de, which I am hosting at Sitejet, I have changed the DNS records for DKIM with Brevo and it is marked as “verified”. Could you please check this? It is really important for me and maybe also for others who have clients with newsletter marketing and more …

Hey @Isabell_Mende - the standalone version if Sitejet (via Sitejet.io) does not support this.

If you use Sitejet as an extension with Plesk you usually have to set up your own periphery including mail, so there, it is possible.

Do you have a tutorial from Brevo about verifying a domain / email address? I usually never had the issue because the tools I was using were accepting other ways as well. But happy to check.

@Isabell_Mende
I’ve connected Brevo with Sitejet for a client.
He has registered a Sitejet Solo account and the Domain is also hosted with Sitejet.
The domain verification was successfull and everything works fine.
So I find this topic/communication very confusing.

Hi @Andre,
to sum this up:

So, if you have a domain hosted on sitejet.io (the standalone version) DKIM is not supported and is not planned to be supported in 2024? Correct?

In my case it is “working” (so says the backend from Brevo) with the newsletter software Brevo – I have used another tutorial, but this one on the brevo site looks fine for me: https://help.brevo.com/hc/de/articles/12163873383186

I will also add my DNS settings from sitejet:

I have verified the mail and the domain within brevo and both have “green ticks”:

So could you help me and @Barbara_Bichler with that “confusion”, please?

Hey @Isabell_Mende and @Barbara_Bichler let me check with our CTO tomorrow morning. I will look into the article from Brevo as well. :slight_smile:

@Barbara_Bichler and @Isabell_Mende

Brevo uses DKIM to authenticate that the Brevo platform can send emails posing to be from your domain.

It is to prevent fraud.

This would be a DKIM record for Brevo.

Not a DKIM record for sitejet.

Sitejet still lacks providing a DKIM record for sitejet.

@Andre

Can you please re-evaluate adding and prioritising we have DKIM, DMARC, and SPF?
This is going to become a common security requirement, and it’s already started with Google and Yahoo.

Hello @Andre, I am looking forward to the results from your meeting with your CTO. Because of the comment from @Naz_Haque: I am also aware about the planned changes from Google and Yahoo. But, I was irritated because I thought, that DMARC and SPF is already supported and just DKIM is not. Anyway – would be great to have news from your CTO meeting.

@Isabell_Mende
I’m aware that DKIM is missing (as per the core focus of this thread).

I’m unsure of the status of DMARC & SPF for Sitejet.

I’m looking forward to clarity on all fronts from Andre.
