Footer Menu Edits

Hi there,

Is it possible to edit the menu elements in the footer? I’m having a lot of trouble and I like the format of my footer so I don’t want to change it if possible.

  1. Can I make it so the menu is longways rather than stacked?

  2. When it’s stacked like it is, can I edit the size of the menu items and take away the bullet points?

I also have been having a problem where all the menu items except the first (Services) is indented. I’m not having that problem anymore but until today it’s looked like this. I’m not sure how I fixed it but I’m just wondering if anyone knows, for my future reference. If not, no worries since it solved itself.

  • Services
    - Helicopters
    - Airplanes
    - Etc.

Thanks!!

Hey Olivia,

Thanks for posting this. Sorry for my late reply. I was on holidays.

Do you still have the issue and need assistance?

Hi Andre,

I ended up using text elements in containers and turning them into links, instead of using the menu.
I’m still curious about my questions, though, if you know the answers to them.

Thanks

Hey Olivia,

That would have been one suggestion of mine as well. So, are the elements now in line vertically or still horizontal?

A website ID would be helpful, so I can take a peak. The ID is in the URL, when you are in the builder.

The elements are now vertical, but they’re no longer menu items. I’m just wondering if you can edit menu items to get rid of bullet points. And how to make a menu change from the vertical layout to horizontal, since I’ve managed to do it before on other sites, but I can’t figure out how I did it.

The ID is 1206296

Thanks!

Hey Olivia,

in this case, I would strongly recommend to not use a menu or bullet points in the footer at all. The reason is because you have a sticky menu already which is the main navigation for any user anyways.

This way, you would have much more space for the footer on any device to present other globally interesting information for your visitors.

You could also re-activate to display the contact us on other devices in the menu bar as well. And of course in the footer. But from my experience, maybe focus on a footer without the menu.

However, you can change the alignment of the elements inside a container via the flexbox settings. But be aware, that you will not have space on mobile or tablet to go the horizontal way.

Does this help?

Hey Andre,

Good point, I just recently turned the menu to sticky and hadn’t even considered changing up the footer in that way.

This answers all my questions, except:
Can you edit menu settings in the footer (without CSS or anything), or can those only really be edited while the menu is in a menu bar? For example, taking the bullet points away, even while the menu is vertical.

Thanks!

I would suggest not to use another menu element there, when you are not familiar with CSS etc. Instead, build your own “menu” with text elements and links. The bullet points can of course be removed. I did not see those now though, did you remove them already?

Yes, the bullet points were showing up in the menu element. That’s mostly why I built my own menu with text and containers.

Good to know that edits require CSS.

Thanks!!

Ah I see. Yes, those can be disabled.
