Split the community for “original" Sitejet users and Plesk users

Since the implementation in Plesk there are two variations of Sitejet and this community has become confusing.

When it comes to a request, it is often not clear which Sitejet version the person is using. Users of the original Sitejet software read about problems that they cannot understand because it has to do with Plesk. In addition, all too often the answer must be “Sorry, but this is a Plesk issue. Please contact the support there”.

I see confused Plesk users because they read about features that are not available for them.
On the other hand users of the original Sitejet software wonder about difficult requests within this community they have never heard of (because it is Plesk related).

I don’t know if anybody here feels the same.
But I would appreciate to be able to just see the requests (and answers!) that are related to the version of Sitejet I am using.

Hey @Barbara_Bichler,

Thank you so much for this great feedback. I will definitely forward it, and we will discuss it internally.

I like to give a bit of a perspective on this community and the mixed users in here. Since the integration with Plesk and cPanel, we are super happy that more users are now using Sitejet and get a chance to build websites on their favorite “platforms”. As you might know, we are all part of the Webpros family, and growing together more closely is one of the goals for us.

For us, it was also clear from the beginning, that the new users from Plesk and cPanel will have different technical issues from Sitejet legacy (“legacy” would be your term for your “original”) users.

Therefore, we decided to work with TAGS and their own categories for specific issues:

Aside from that, most of the challenges our new members from cPanel and Plesk face, are within the website builder itself. So, we think the best place for our new Sitejetters are within this community. And we hope, that this community will flourish more with new ideas, more new input, more members helping each other out in the coming weeks and months because of that. Would you agree?

But I am also super interested in ideas to make it easier for everyone here. Really looking forward to more feedback on this. :raised_hands:

Thanks for these insights. Very helpful to understand the companies philosophy.

I am not sure if Plesk/cPanel users are really aware of the circumstance that there are two versions of Sitejet and what’s different. Maybe this should be communicated more clearly.

Hey Barbara, did you see our “new” website?
