Redirects for .html pages

Hello,

I can’t seem to get redirects to work for my site. The old pages ended in .html (e.g. /old_page.html) and I wish to redirect those pages to their new SJ location (e.g. /new_page)

However, this doesn’t seem to be working.

Does SJ support redirects from old URLS with .html (or other file) extensions? If not, can you suggest an alternative method?

Hello @Kieran_Nunan and welcome to Sitejet!

I have checked your website and was not able to find any redirects pointing to us, our set-up within Sitejet. Did you remove them?

If you like, give us an example, and we set it up with and for you and test it with you.

Hi Andre,

Thanks for looking into this. This is very strange as I see the redirects on my end (screenshot below).

Perhaps I got the site ID wrong. Here is the CMS URL:
https://cms.sitejet.io/353623

A sample 301 redirect would be:
/hersratings.html
to
/hersratings

Hey Kiernan,

Thank you. Now I see the redirects. Could you please check again? Seems to work now?

Yes, looks like they are all working now! Please let me know if there was a step I missed. Perhaps it was a cache issue on my end.

I appreciate the assistance, Andre!

Hey Kiernan, not quite sure what it is. Could be that you have set the redirects before the domain was set up or it was just a hiccup.

But great, that it works now!
