I need to allows my consumers to pre-order new items so they may receive them as soon as they become available, allowing them to track their progress.
Is it an option available with sitejet? If not, can it be?

This is not natively implemented in Sitejet. I recommend checking with Ecwid or your choice of ecommerce solution, if they do offer this kind of tracking possibility.
