Plesk | Multilingual redirect problem

HI Guys,
when i built the website the client wanted to have a multilingual website.
Now - she dont, as its a lot of work to translate all the stuff

I deleted the second language (english), which causes the website redirecting to /de
which is fine, BUT:

10% of all website visits causing a 403 Server Error, as the redirect to /de does not work.
How can i set a permanent redirect from url.com to URL.com - MediaOptions so its ALWAYS showing the website as it should?

Hey,

You actually don’t have to because when you only have one language, you just disable multilanguage and all should point to www.thebestdomain.com with no language suffix.

Would you please check it in the Website Builder and then publish again after making a small change and safe?

Nope, thats definitely NOT the case
And thats causing the redirect error. I saw another post from somebody i think it was in french with the same problem…

And: Even IF i delete the language:

  • its auto redirecting to /de (IF it works, hahaha)
  • still showing the language selector with german flag

Same Website like in the other post. ID: 666345

P.S. Problem is NOT the /de…
but that its sometimes not working.

I really need a solution for this: My client already getting SUPER angry…

Well… checking your website I can see that the multilanguage is still activated…

Please deactivate that, also check in your redirects if there is any redirect pointing everything to /de …

Afterwards, please save the progress and then re-publish. Happy to check again if that solved the issue.

If it does not, we need to forward this to Plesk, as from the Sitejet site everything would be okay.
But let us first check that.

Looking forward to your response.

Hey Andre, i cant delete the multilingual option anymore, as all people now already know the /de URL as its shared on FB, Insta, etc.
So NOW it NEEDS to be with the lang tag in die URL, BUT:
the REDIRECT that your system (sitejet) does, sometimes works, and sometimes not.
THAT is the real issue for now.

Are you able to undertand better, now?

Hey Marco,

of course you can change that and usually the system should set a redirect or you just add those if it does not work.

Our redirect - at least from Sitejet Studio - does work. It is set automatically. But, please remember, that you are using Plesk. Redirects are set in Plesk for your server. If something does not work there, you might need to consider checking in with Plesk Support.

like i said: The redirect from sitejet sometimes seems to NOT work
But man, happy that youre here, so dont get me wrong.

PLESK Support i dont get, as i dont bought the license from PLESK itself.
My Domain Registrar where i rent the serverlicense dont know how to help.-

So now - i am lost.

As I said: The website on your Plesk server is on your Plesk server. Once the website is published, the files are on your Plesk server and everything including the redirects are managed by the Plesk server.

Okay, that is really unfortunate with the Domain Registrar. Have you tried to get in touch with Plesk support directly? https://support.plesk.com/hc/en-us

I still recommend

That would be the first step.

Then… check if an automatic redirect works from Plesk.

yes, thats what i meant: they dont provide support, if you dont buy the license directly from them.

if i deactivate the multi language, then there will be no redirect neccessary from domain.com to domain.com/de

what do i missunderstand here?
Sorry, i am german and english is not my main language.

The redirect after the switch was just a suggestion to be 100 % sure that it works for everyone
