Hosting Transfer

Hi there,

I use Sitejet for my own design business, so I know the platform. Someone came to me recently asking if I could edit an old site. It was built in the early 2000’s using just HTML. They are not looking to transfer completely to Sitejet, and only want a couple of pages edited (if possible; I’m not sure how to do this as of now, but they want me to edit the homepage and another page in Sitejet and link the rest of the HTML to those two pages). This website is hosted on TMD Hosting until 2025, then will be transferred to Chemicloud hosting platform. TMD offers Sitejet as their website builder in cPanel. Chemicloud offers one called SitePad. If I build a couple of pages, or even the whole website, in Sitejet now and transfer it over to Chemicloud later, will they then be charged for the entirety of the base Sitejet plan? As of now, they only pay for the hosting service which provides Sitejet.

Thanks!

Hi!
I’m assuming that when you are saying Sitejet you are referring to Sitejet Studio (the complete hosted solution by Sitejet).
So … you will need Sitejet Studio + Sitejet Team Plan.

If you want to keep your existing site (+hosting) and just add a new section/page. You can create a website in Sitejet (for a page for instance) and then export the plain html/css/js.

Then take the content and create a folder (+place the exported content) on your current host and point to the necessary page.

Hope this helps!

Great, that info helps clarify my HTML question. Thanks!

Hey Olivia,

It seems that you are planning to move over to cPanel anyway in the near future. Actually, there you would have access to all the website files including the HTML. So the easiest way would probably be to move now and do the changes immediately on the new platform.
