Hey Sitejetters,
The Website Builder has a new look ![]()
This is the first step in a series of changes to make the builder simpler to work in, and you can switch to it whenever you like with the “Try our new look” toggle in the top menu bar.
What’s new
A cleaner starting point: The top menu bar now holds only what you need constantly while editing. Everything else moved into a new left sidebar, organized by category so features that are used together sit together.
Panels swapped sides: Feature panels now open on the left. Settings panels for elements and sections open on the right.
Clearer names:
-
The Design panel is now Theme, and the feature inside it is now called Global Styles.
-
The Navigator is now Layers, which is the more common term for the structure, sections and elements of a page.
New and adjusted categories:
-
Pages: Pages and Languages now share one panel.
-
Theme: Global styles for text, colors and buttons, plus the Font Manager.
-
Assets: Everything content-related that you can use across the whole website: Files, Stock Photos, AI Writer and Data Bindings.
-
Collections: Links to the Collections Manager for content, structure and data fields, plus the Collection Templates with dummy content to get started quickly.
-
SEO: Website SEO for the whole site, shortcuts to page-specific SEO, and the SEO analysis by XOVI.
-
More: Most of what used to live in the burger menu: Backups, Website Export, Redirections, Copy and Share Website, Change Template and Generate Website.
-
Settings: Your own preferences for the builder, like dark or light mode, interface language and AI page translation. Also links to the Help options and the shortcut overview.
Languages got a refresh: Same functionality, new design. Setting up languages and changing the default language is more straightforward now.
Keyboard shortcuts: Most shortcuts stay the same, a few changed and a few are new. Press Ctrl/Cmd + Shift + K to open the shortcut overview at any time.
Together, these changes should make your day-to-day workflow simpler and faster. Give it a try with the “Try our new look” toggle in the top menu bar - you can switch back at any time.
We hope you enjoy the update, even if it takes a session or two to get used to them, and we’d love to hear what you think, so feel free to reach out!
With this update, we also released a few bug fixes:
- The drag & drop handling for Mac when adding sections to a container should work as intended. Clicking Cmd and the dragging and dropping it into the container, or dragging and dropping and then holding Cmd should both work again.
- The link feature in the collections is no longer hidden behind rich text fields.
- Pages and subpages of a website are shown in the link feature of a collection field.
Have a great day!

Hey Sitejetters,
Der Website Builder hat ein neues Interface. ![]()
Was ist neu
