[CW 11.2024] Share & Copy Websites between Accounts, “Read More” Section, and 2 New Website Templates

Hey Sitejetters,

Are you ready for another release? With a very, very cool feature?

1. Share & Copy Websites between Sitejet accounts!
A lot of you were hoping for this option and today it becomes reality
Starting today, you can share websites between different Sitejet accounts!

In the Burger Menu in the top left corner you will now find the option Copy & Share Websites.

When you click on it, you will see two options:

1. Share website
You can choose between two different sharing code types:
Perpetual: This code can be used multiple times to copy the websites. It will be invalidated when you generate a new perpetual code.
One-time: This code can be used once to copy the website. It will be invalidated after that use.
2. Copy website
Here you see an input field for a sharing code to copy a website from another project.

How amazing is that? Enjoy and happy sharing!

2. Read More Section

In the left content sidebar in the category Features you will be greeted by our latest addition, the Read More section. Simply drag it into the website, replace the text, adjust the settings and website visitors will see a small text extract that they can expand completely using the Read More button.

3. New Website Template: Health & Food

Do you have customers who want to educate about a healthy diet and the importance of exercise? Then we have the perfect website template for you! It’s not only appealing and colorful, but also offers the perfect starting point for sharing delicious, healthy recipes thanks to the integrated blog. 4. New Website Template: UrbanNest Interiors

As an interior designer, you want to show your customers what the design process looks like, what you value when working on projects and, of course, show completed designs - this is exactly what we have captured with our new website template. 1. Teile & kopiere Websites zwschen Sitejet-Accounts
Ihr habt es euch gewünscht, wir haben es geliefert Seit heute können Websites problemlos zwischen Sitejet Accounts geteilt werden.

Beim Burger-Menü in der oberen linken Ecke findest du jetzt den Punkt Website teilen & kopieren.

Wenn du darauf klickst, siehst du zwei Optionen:

1. Website teilen
Du kannst zwischen zwei Code-Arten wählen:
Dauerhaft: Dieser Code kann mehrfach verwendet werden, um die Websites zu kopieren. Er wird ungültig, wenn du einen neuen unbefristeten Code erzeugst.
Einmalig: Dieser Code kann einmal verwendet werden, um die Website zu kopieren. Er wird nach der Verwendung ungültig.
2. Website kopieren
Hier siehst du ein Eingabefeld für einen Code, um eine Website aus einem anderen Projekt zu kopieren.

Wie cool ist dieses Feature?! Viel Spaß bei der Nutzung und beim Teilen!

2. “Read More”-Section

In der linken Content-Sidebar unter der Kategorie Features findet ihr ab sofort die Read More-Section. Einfach in die Website ziehen, Text austauschen, Einstellungen anpassen, Design anpassen und schon sehen Website-Besucher einen kleinen Text-Auschnitt, den sie über den “Read more”-Button komplett ausklappen können.

I’ve tried the “share & copy” functionality today.
Unfortunately, the “Dateien & Stockphotos” library has not been copied as well.
Why is that (not best for client projects)?

And is this the right procedure if I want to transfer a clients website AND the domain?

Hey Barbara,

There are two ways to copy a website as described here: Eine Website kopieren und teilen - Sitejet Hilfe (german article)

And yes, when the website is copied by a user to be shared, the system designs a clone. That means, that media will not be copied and has to be uploaded manually. I will add this information to the new help articles.

The best way, if you want a full transfer would be through the Sitejet support. We are able to access the websites in the backend and disconnect them fully from your account to tie it to another account.

Especially with the domains this is also recommended, because a domain that is registered through Sitejet can not be twice in a system, which means a transfer inside Sitejet is not possible.

The reasons for these decisions are a) a technical decision for our infrastructure based on b) technical boundaries and restrictions from our payment provider and c) a security measure as well.

However, a full transfer of a website and also a domain is tied to costs. Those costs however could be minimized if you stick to the clone and just ask us to move the domain.

Thanks for this overview.

I transfered a clients website yesterday using the share & copy functionality.
It worked good besides these two things:

1. When using global data fields (for company name, address, email etc.) these are overwritten by the default ones (like 12345 for zip code, Berlin for town) and you need to set it again.
2. The media library is empty. When I tried to import the images I used it worked good for single images but not for image galeries and backgrounds.

See video what happens when I try to import images from the galery. The import link disappears when hovering towards it before I can click on it. For background images I couldn’t find a way at all.
