Blog Posts not showing

I have written my blog posts by editing the templates. I can see the posts as previews on the home page, but when I click on Read More, it goes to the previews on the Trending section and not the actual full blog post. When I enter the direct URL the browser, I get to blank blog page of my site. How do I link the actual article to the Read More button?

the website is: www.techspaceafrica.co.za

Hi @Sihlemakalima , can you show us a screenshot of your blog settings?

I’m not sure if this is what you’re asking for

Hi @Sihlema… thanks for the screenshot! :ok_hand:
Here are two things we still need to check so we can see why the “Read More” button isn’t opening the full blog post:

Blog Collection Settings

In Sitejet, the blog posts need to be connected to a Collection.
Can you share a screenshot of:
CMS → Collections → Blog (or “Posts”)
so we can see if the fields (title, slug, content) are set up correctly?

Single Blog Page (Detail Page)

The “Read More” button should link to the Single Post Template.
Can you open your Blog → Single Post page and send us a screenshot of:

  • the page slug,

  • and the dynamic bindings inside the page (title, content, image etc.)

This will show us whether the posts are linked properly or if the button is pointing to the wrong page.

Once we have those two screenshots, we’ll find the issue quickly.

Thanks for the response, here are the screenshots below. I have been trying to make the blog page template as I’ve been looking it up online but I just can’t seem to get it

Simple Explanation of the Process (Clear & Concise)

  1. We added a “Read More” button inside the blog list item.

  2. We selected the button and opened the “Link” settings.

  3. Instead of adding a custom URL or CMS field, we chose:
    → Link → Collection item

    This automatically tells Sitejet:
“Use this item’s slug and open the Blog Single Page Layout.”

  4. Sitejet then binds the button to the correct blog post dynamically.
No manual URL needed, no extra fields needed.

  5. The button now opens the correct post on the published site.
The builder preview may not always load dynamic links, but live it works perfectly.

:backhand_index_pointing_right: Choosing “Link → Collection item”
This is what connects each button to its own blog post.
