When Is the Best Time to Hire a Website Developer?

I’m trying to figure out when the best time is to hire a website developer for my business. Should I bring someone on before launching my brand, when I start getting traffic, or only when my current site needs major improvements?

I’ve been searching for website developers near me, but before I make a decision, I’d love to hear from others who have already gone through the process. At what stage did you hire a developer, and what signs told you it was the right time?

Any advice, experiences, or recommendations would be greatly appreciated!

Hi there, I think there is no right or wrong way here.

I have been a solo webdesigner for 17 years now but as I am focussing more and more on business mentoring as well my done-for-you website service has gotten just one piece of my “online starter system” - and I have been thinking about hiring recently. For at least parts of the website project which start to drain my energy on a certain point.

I think you should get clear about your business goals and how your personal skills, talents and energy are best spent in this scenario. And then hire out what drains your energy or can be taken over by somebody else more efficient.
And of course it is a money decision as well.
If you feel you are good at sales and get good paid projects in easily it is probably a good idea to get ongoing support by contractors or employees as soon as possible in order to grow and scale your business. If this is not the case you could just hire somebody to support projectwise - only for certain tasks probably so you can focus on other important things in your business.

These are just my thoughts - hope this helps.
Would be happy to discuss this further.
