I would like to know what are your favorite free or super low fee tools you are using additionally to the website builder?
This can be tools for design-ideas, graphics, fonts or even a dead link checker. Anything you can think of. I am considering to compile a sort of megathread / list with some nice additional tools that will help us all to thrive doing websites and generate great content on them.
When you recommend a tool, let us know why you use it and what it can do.
Love this thread — thanks for sparking it! We are big fans of using free or super low-cost tools to boost our creative flow and productivity. Here’s a peek at what we use regularly:
Coolors.co – Perfect for quickly generating beautiful and cohesive color palettes.
Google Fonts – Tons of free, high-quality fonts that integrate smoothly into projects.
Pexels & Unsplash – Go-to resources for royalty-free, professional-grade images.
Ubersuggest – Great for SEO insights, keyword suggestions, and site health checks.
Dead Link Checker – Keeps our sites clean by spotting broken links fast.
Calendly – A lifesaver for scheduling meetings without the email ping-pong.
Coming soon: A custom AI Agent for our site! We’re currently building one to support visitors, answer FAQs, and improve overall experience — can’t wait to share it once it’s live!
Would love to see what other tools the community is using — even one little gem can save hours or spark new ideas. Let’s get this megathread rolling!
Hi B_Brown, thanks a lot for your interest! If you have a specific use case in mind, happy to test around that.
Mine is not live yet — still experimenting
Keeping it intentionally simple (no persona, no salesy stuff), just testing if an AI helper trained on site content adds value.
Will share updates soon!
Will say, don’t leave it much longer cos the best judge whether good enough (for purpose website intended) or needs more experimenting, is a website visitor.
Now because it’s not live, there’s no website visitors, so how do you know your ‘still experimenting’ is needed in Dec2025?
The most profitable experiment will be the ones directed by website visitors.
But hey, what do I know? I am not a doctor or lawyer.
TOOL
“Nano Banana” (Google’s Gemini 2.5 Flash Image) model
[Dec2025]
WHY USE IT?
If you want to move past mediocre stock images and are tired of your websites images looking like every other stock photo, check it out! It’ll give your clients something bespoke. Another reason is because it handles image-to-image editing and character consistency - really fast!
The ABOUT page image, I’ve decided it’ll be moved to the landing page. H owever doing an internet image search, it was interesting to see how many websites are using this exact image. So to be different, here’s where Nano Banana came into play!
Okay, I can see it’s not a 10 out of 10 edit (male has no window reflection) however I’m still pleased with the outcome. If you conduct an image search, you’ll see the additions others have made with theirs. The same original stock photo with their AI spin.
A quick heads-up on usage:
Nano Banana is free and has dynamic limits. Using ‘Thinking’ mode, you’ll hit a wall after just 2 or 3 image requests. Using ‘Fast’ mode, you’ll get way more mileage before you hit a daily limit. Just be as descriptive as possible. Makes for less editing time.
BtW: I had no idea what the “A.Q.” (on the café menu) meant. Perplexity.ai said: 'almost always means ‘As Quoted’, which is another way of saying “price varies, ask for the current price.”
Wow, the only thing I saw instantly that gives up that this is not “real” was the missing reflection of the guy in the window and maybe a Machhiato for 3 bucks haha
