I have used “Share & Copy Website” between two third level domains on the same 2nd level domain account without issue; the process works well. However when I attempt to copy from one primary domain to another - I am getting “error while copying website”.
I built the site in my domain and want to upload it to my friend’s domain (where it’s going to go permanently) but can’t get this to function.
The original site is set as “perpetual” for code sharing. Have also tried one-time code and that fails too. I always receive the “error while copying website – The sharing code may be invalid or has already been used if it was a one-time code."
Both top level domains and hosting services are with the same company on similar servers.
I’m not sure what to do, is this functionality broken for uploading and downloading site content between TLDs?
UPDATE: about 30-40 minutes later this started working - was there a known issue with the transfer mechanism that caused it to fail that you’re aware of? I followed precisely the same procedure as before.
Thanks - it occurred about 20 minutes before I posted that first message if there’s a system log of it.
I’m currently dealing with a bug (definitely a bug) where the publishing doesn’t work properly, it breaks the fonts and everything switches to serif fonts; you have to manually delete /g/fonts.css and then re-publish, I saw references to this outside. Is this something I raise at the helpdesk forum?
Hey @David_Thelwall - it has been raised already. This is a bug from cPanel. I will make a general post about it. cPanel knows about this already and is working on it to fix it.
