Can you link menu items to uploaded files?

I need to have a top tier menu item “Packing Info” that does not link to a page. Submenus below it need to link to pdf instruction files to be downloaded by the user. It is pretty basic in manual html coding:

<a href="myfile.pdf>Download My File</a>

Since Sitejet appears to erase the whole root of the website and overwrite everything, I don’t think I can just put a folder called pdf there and do an external link for the submenu items. Anytime the site is updated, that folder will be erased when Sitejet rewrites everything. Is that correct? Is there a way to directly link submenu items to files for download? I uploaded the files to my Sitejet project but don’t see a way to link to them in the menus.

UPDATE: So I got it linked to the file but it is your https://cdn1.site-media.eu/… website. Is that going to be the permanent home when the site is published or will that link break when the files are written down to the production website?

That is a permanent link. If you update the file and re-upload it, you need to link to the new file.
