New feature that renames file names: Please remove again

For a few days now, a letter code has been added to the file name of every file that is uploaded to Sitejet Builder.

At first I thought it was a bug, but in consultation with Sitejet I was told that this is a kind of security feature.

But honestly, this new feature really annoys me.

I assign file names with a meaning and don’t want these file names to be supplemented by such codes. I have also already received feedback from customers who are very annoyed by this.
In particular, if I have download PDFs on a community website, for example, then I want to assign unique names that are NOT supplemented by such (sorry) stupid code in the name!

I urge you to remove this feature from the Sitejet builder or find a better solution without changing the name.

I apologize for the somewhat annoyed tone and hope that other users see this the same way as I do.

Added your feedback and will present it in the next product meeting next week.

@Patrick_Luescher
I fully agree with you: It is absolutely annoying and causes a lot of trouble.
Even clients already complained because they don’t want to have their visitors download a PDF with weird suffixes.

@Andre Any news about this in your product meeting discussions?

It is quite annoying and bad use for any site that provides downloads for visitors; info PDFs or such.

Please ensure, file names are clean and as chosen.

Hey there,

It has been an addition from the security team at WebPros. This will be discussed in the next product meeting.

And yes: Safety and Security can be annoying. :wink:
