# Video Mp4 size is too big for media upload

Dear all,  
I just tried to upload a video into the media section (size 307 MB) and got the error message that the file is too big. How can I change the possible size for a media upload, so we can show the video in our header section.

Hey Clara,

there are several ways to convert and compress your videos.

[Any Video Converter program](https://www.chip.de/downloads/Any-Video-Converter_42658474.html) (third party tool - no guarantee)

[Online converter](https://www.freeconvert.com/video-compressor) (third party tool - no guarantee)

… there are indeed a lot of programs and ways to compress the video. VLC media player also has such a function. I highly recommend checking one of the many guides to do so.

Hi! You can use [HandBrake](https://handbrake.fr/) - The open source video transcoder (which is based on FFmpeg) … to convert and compress your video.  
However, it is a bit strange that you get the error message that the file is too big. In SiteJet the file size limit that you upload (documented in the [help section](https://help.sitejet.io/article/457-media-manager#mediamanager-limit)) is 1-2GB.
